[IV. Rifampicin and a resistant clone of Agrobacterium tumefaciens in tumor induction].
نویسنده
چکیده
From Agrobacterium tumefaciens, strain B6, a clone B6Ri could be isolated which grows well in presence of 150 ,ug/ml rifampicin. Moreover B6Ri does not alter the rifampicin in the medium (quantity, spectrum in visible light, ability to inhibit the growth of B6). B6Ri is able to induce crown-galls on leaves of Kalanchoe in the presence of 100 /^g/ml rifampicin. Therefore the rifampicin-mediated inhibition of crown-gall induction by B6 is not a consequence of any influence of the drug on the host cell.

Isolation of Agrobacterium Tumefaciens Strains from Crown Gall Disease on Imported Roses Plants in Qazvin Province
Cultivar of roses (Rosa spp.) has been grown in greenhouses in Qazvin region of Iran for local markets. Agrobacterium tumefaciens strains were isolated and identified from six different samples of roses plants imported from the Netherland to Iran. During August and September of 2012, nearly 2-5% of rose plants in two different greenhouses in the province of Qazvin were observed with crown gall ...
متن کاملTime required for tumor induction by Agrobacterium tumefaciens.
Cellulose-minus mutants of Agrobacterium tumefaciens retain virulence but can be removed from wound sites by washing with water. Washing of Bryophyllum diagremontiana leaves inoculated with a cellulose-minus mutant was used to determine the minimum time the bacteria must be present for tumor induction. This time was 4 to 8 h.

Abiotic stress conditions can be imposed on plants through either poor water quality or adverse climate condition. These types of stress affect plant growth and development throughout their life cycle. Plants that are tolerant to drought are therefore valuable, and turf grasses have the potential to grow tolerant. Turf grasses provide ground cover and offer multiple benefits, from their aesthet...
متن کاملEffect of gibberellic Acid on crown gall tumor induction in aging primary pinto bean leaves.
Gibberellic acid was tested for its effect on tumor induction by Agrobacterium tumefaciens in primary pinto bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) leaves in various stages of development. The hormone was found to promote tumor induction in partially aged leaves but did not effect tumor induction in very young leaves or in fully matured leaves. It is suggested that the natural loss of susceptibility to tumor...
متن کاملArabidopsis RETICULON-LIKE3 (RTNLB3) and RTNLB8 Participate in Agrobacterium-Mediated Plant Transformation
Agrobacterium tumefaciens can genetically transform various eukaryotic cells because of the presence of a resident tumor-inducing (Ti) plasmid. During infection, a defined region of the Ti plasmid, transfer DNA (T-DNA), is transferred from bacteria into plant cells and causes plant cells to abnormally synthesize auxin and cytokinin, which results in crown gall disease. T-DNA and several virulen...
